This video introduces terminology and hormones of the endocrine system. The first part of the lecture introduces the anatomy of the endocrine system including the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, adrenal glands, pancreas, ovaries, and testes. Next, there’s a quick summary of the TRH-TSH-T3/T4 feedback loop as an example of an endocrine system feedback loop. Finally, the lecture reviews key hormones, their function, and their etymology, from adiponectin and ACTH to testosterone and thyroid hormone.
